Brazilian Poetry
Contemporary Poetries:
Decade 50-60. Literary movement: Concrete Poetries. The Brazilian poets were influenced by poet Ezra Pound which is influenced by East Culture. The Japanese writing, ideogram writing, ( Shodo) and the Japanese poets like Basho was the main influence to these Brazilian poets. After, these Brazilian poets influenced too the Japanese literature.
The poets mix the word with drawing and sound trying to obtain many meanings with a little characters. The main element is the simplicity of nature, its sounds, its cycles, its phenomenons, the night, the flowers, the sun, the wind, the sky, the colors,...Its structure is in the action, image in words, what the poet sees, observes in action, not the description poet's feelings. So, the poet doesn't use the verb to be. For example, the poet Torquato Neto ( Brazilian Poet):
1.As I walk in the winter rain,
The umbrella
Presses me back
2. The cool on the bridge;
The moon and I
Alone remain
Its structure is in the drawing of the words. Look at the files augusto.jpg and salomao.jpg
File augusto.jpg: The poet Augusto de Campos jokes with 2 words pluvial ( rain) and the fluvial( river). The line vertical, upright he writes/draws the word pluvial like the abundant rain, and the line horizontal he writes/draws the word fluvial like the movement of the rivers. Note that he cross these two words, probably he intends to show the cycle or the unity that there are in our nature, between the rain and rivers. What do you think about this?

Note that he repeats the words without verb. I think that he intends drawing with words and to create the repetitious movement of sea. He repeats this with drawings too,..
I think that nature has a series of the repetitious movement, like cycles, simple movement but very important to human survive.
