After installing, open the FreePPP setup window, and configure as shown below.
Next click the Open MacTCP... button.
You should get a window like this one below.
Make sure the FreePPP icon is highlighted.
Now click on More...
You should see a window like the one shown below.
Set Obtain Address: for Server.
Set IP Address for Class C.
Drag the Subnet Mask slider bar as far to the right as you can.
Set the Domain Name Server Information as above.
Click OK and close the MacTCP Control Panel.
Now Restart your Mac.
Next, open the FreePPP setup again.
Select Modem Setup.
You should see a window like the one below.
Configure as above.
If Auto Detect init string does not work for your modem, try entering your own known init string from the Modem String menu.
For Modem Inits click here.
Click OK.
Now Click on Accounts.
Click on New and enter garlic.com
Click OK
You should see a window like below.
Configure as above. If you are connecting from Hollister, the Phone Number is 636-5844.
Now click on Edit connection script...
You should see a window like the one below.
Enter all the settings as above.
Click OK.
Now click on Connection.
If you have a 14.4 modem set Port Speed for 38400 and Flow Control for CTS only.
If you have a 28.8 modem set Port Speed for 57600 and Flow Control for CTS & RTS (DTR).
The Modem init string above is for a Global Village TelePort Platinum 28.8 modem.
Click OK and you should be done and ready to connect to South Valley Internet.
