Common Birds and Animals at Traylor Ranch
Nature Reserve

Equestrian Trails - Bird Sanctuary - Nature -
Wildlife Reserve

90 Acres of Prime Recreational Land located in Penryn California, about 2 miles from Loomis, 3 miles from Rocklin, 6 miles from Newcastle and about 7 miles from Roseville.

The birds listed below are commonly known to inhabit the foothill grassland and woodland communities of western Placer County and may be seen throughout the year as permanent residents or seasonally as migrants to our area. The migrants include winter visitants which breed north of our region and regularly spend the winter with us, summer residents which arrive from the south in spring and nest within the area and depart southward in the fall, and regular transients which winter south of our region, breed north of us, and pass through our territory in spring and fall. Become acquainted with your bird neighbors. Learn the song and favorite haunts of the birds that accompany us on our walks and rides through the Traylor Ranch Nature Reserve. For more information on the bird-life in our area, contact the Sierra Foothill Audubon Society (885-9740) or the Loomis Basin Horseman's Association (652-1824).
