Transcript of Edenvale/San Jose, California - Idalina/Sao Paulo, Brazil Chat Tapped In, Thu Dec 3 1998, 09:03 PST

On Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998 Edenvale Elementary School was visited by a delegation from both the U.S. Department of Education and the Brazilian Ministry of Education. During their visit students at Edenvale and students at Idalina held a live chat in Tapped In.

The following is the transcript of that live chat between students at EEPSG Dona Idalina in Sao Paulo, Brazil and students at Edenvale School in San Jose, CA.

NOTE: Due to the rapid nature of live chat, the transcript may contain grammar and spelling errors. The Brazilian students are chatting in English which is NOT their native language.

Hulda wishes she knew some Portuguese to welcome the visitors but, "Bien

don' know who is this teacher."

so we probably will have some errors."

developed Tapped In. I'm a researcher at this
company."

dialog between the Brazilian students and America

with the California students"

Hulda says, "Richmond High School did a Creek Project a couple of years ago
in which students, both high school and elementary, learned how
to test the water for pollution"

Hulda says, "They checked water in a local creek and then built their own
creek at school"

Hulda says, "RHS students used their own creek to learn how to teach
elementary students at J.O. Ford school how to test water
quality"

Hulda asks, "What kinds of things are you doing in your water project?"

TaniaC [IDALINA] says, "That's cool"

Hulda smiles

Hulda says, "Your Web site look very nice, by the way"

TaniaC [IDALINA] says, "We are testing the water quality of one of our
creek and researching artists that evolves
environmental problems in there art"

TaniaC [IDALINA] says, "Thank you"

Hulda says, "That's great. I like the part about the artists, too"

Hulda says, "It would be good to work together, you, Linda's and our
students"

Hulda says, "I know a teacher in Canada who might be interested too"

were in email contact with a ship a year or two ago that was
collecting water samples as it sailed around the World"
