Funerary Complexes of Menkaure and Kafre Two of the three Giza pyramids Menkaure is 66 m high by 108 m long. Kafre is 136.5 m hihg by 210.5 m long. Giza is the nae given to the burial ground of the ancient city of Letopolis (now Cairo).The pyramids of Giza are found on the Western bank of the Nile River just outside Cairo. The Giza pyramids are from the Fourth Dynasty.

The Great Pyramid of Giza: Funerary Complex of Khufu (Cheops) 146 m high by 233 m long The Pyramids of Giza are the only one of the seven wonders of the world identified by the Ancient Greeks in the 2nd century that is still standing. The pyrmaids form a diagonal line running from northeast to southwest alson the western bank of the Nile River. This way no pyramid blocks the sun from any other pyramid. All three have a burial chamber excavated in the rock and each had a complete complex of mortuary temples and causeways. |

Solar Boat Egyptian archaeologyst Kamal el Mallak uncovered this "solar boat" in May, 1954 just south of the Pyramid of Khufu. This boat may have accompanied the pharoah's body to Giza. It is built out of cedar, sycamore and jumube woods. the boat is 46 m long by 6 m wide. |

Sphinx This Sphinx is in the likeness of King Khafre (Chefrens) whose tomb is one of the three pyramids at Giza. The Sphinx has the head of a man with the body of a lion. It is entirely carved out of rock. It is 21 m high and 73 m long. |
