Yosemite Valley

This photo was taken in February 1998 following El Nino snowstorms.

Half Dome

One of the most recognizable sights in Yosemite Valley looks comfortable with a snow cape, framed in snowy branches.

Spring Thaw

Behind the Awanee Hotel, the snow on this oak tree melts and turns directly from solid (snow) to gas (water vapor), a process called sublimation.

Shimmering Trees

Along the winding Merced River, snow-shimmering trees almost glow in the early morning light.

Shimmering Trees - color

This shot is from the same position as the above photo, but was shot on Fujichrome Velvia.
