This is my favorite sports photo. The ball is sharp, but the players are blurred, dramatically showing the intensity of the hit that jarred the ball from the quarterback.

Track and field is a fun sport to shoot. Pole vaulting is an interesting challenge, though, because it's difficult to get an interesting angle. I noticed that the finish line steps were unoccupied, so I climbed to the top and got this angle. The picture is especially meaningful to me as the athlete is my son, Kirk.
One of the most beautiful race tracks in the country is near Monterey, CA at Laguna Seca. Their season highlight is the Indy Car race in the fall. Here, Bobby Rahal leads the pack.
High school players seem to have a vitality and emotion that older players do not. This high school end rejoices after his team has scored a touchdown. Often the best photo stories are away from the play.
