THE COLONEL'S CACHE WW1 INSIGNIA

WW1 enlistedman's collar discs. These are all original WW1 issue and have the back nut. Many others available.

Item WW00-WW1 enlistedman's wool tunics. Standard issue. All buttons. These are all in good shape with very minor mothing, if any. No insignia. Size 36. My choice. --$75 each--

Item WW03- Here is another nice cotton tunic. This one is for a quartermaster corporal. This coat was made by The House of Kuppenheimer. There are a couple of minor snags and some fraying to the cuffs. Not bad though. One of the neck closure hooks is missing. There is also light shadows where there were unit patches on each sleeve. Has one bullion overseas stripe. Comes with a pair of slightly lighter cotton breeches. Standard issue with the zinc buttons at the fly. -$99-

Item WW04-Rare Pershing style tunic. These were late war issue. In order to conserve wool, the patch pockets were done away with and the pockets were hun inside with only a wool flap on the outside. This one is dated 1919. There is a moth nip on the front and one at the left shoulder. The right bottom side has sever moth damage. However, for display, the mothing does not show. So as a variety of the WW1 tunic for display, this would fill the slot at the right price. --$75--

Item WW06-- Here is a very nice, officer quality, wool, private purchase uniform. Coat is complete with an Advanced Sector patch, medical and US collar disc, and two bullion overseas stripes. No markings in either item. Coat has a few very small moth nips that are not an issue. Breeches also have a few scattered nips. Coat is about a size 37. Breeches measure 30x22 1/2. Very nice Advanced Sector uniform. --$160--

Item WW07-- Attributed 1st Army Ammunition Trains uniform. Pattern 1917 tunic with a rare 1st Army Trains patch, sergeants stripe, discharge stripe and a bullion overseas stripe. Has US and "T" disc. Nice pattern 1917 overcoat with the same sleeve insignia and stripes. Overseas cap with US disc on one side and a Coastal Artillery pin and a nice enameled "AEF" pin with a single chevron. Set includes the breeches and wool puttees as well. Comes with an original promotion certificate to corporal for Benjamin W. Peach of the 54th Ammunition Train. The uniform and overcoat are in very good condition with just a few minor stains and some slight moth tracking on the overcoat. Nothing that detracts from display. Couple of buttons need to be resewn. This is a great set with both coats bearing the rare patch. --$425--

Item WW08-- Here is a nice 3rd Army WW1 cotton tunic for a Signal Corps corporal. It is tight on a size 36 maniquine. Some minor stains on the coat but it appears to have seen little use. No rips or tears. No depot tag. Nice insignia to include 2 bullion overseas stripes, discharge stripe and Signal Corps corporal stripes. The 3rd Army patch is very nice and clean. Overall, a very nice displayable tunic --$130--

Item WW10-Here is a real nice cotton khaki WW1 7th Corps tunic. Small size but there are no rips, tears or stains. Interesting that while the patch is hand applied to the tunic and apears to be quite original, there are no other patches on the tunic nor does it appear that there ever were. All the buttons are there. No collar discs. One of the grommet holes seems a little close to the edge. Not a big issue. Just put a disc a little bit to the right and cover the hole with it. Anyway, The patch is bullion on wool. Very nice tunic. --$110--

Item WW11- Super lot here. Late war “rough cut” 5th Division tunic. Has “A company” infantry and US collar disc as well as 1 bullion overseas stripe. No rips, tears or stains. Nice 5th Div. patch on right shoulder. Contract tag in the lower right pocket. Top two buttons need to be sewn on and one of the "eye" closures at the troat is missing. Includes a very nice M1917 helmet that has a painted base and 5th Division insignia. Good liner and chinstrap. Best item is a 5th Division history. This has been repaired but all 424 pages are there including many maps of the campaigns. Dated 1919, this is a great compliment to the uniform and helmet. --$325--

Item WW12-WW1 7th Division set. Consists of a khaki tunic with discharge stripe, overseas stripe, and a very nice 7th Division patch. Collar discs are US and the 56th Infantry Regiment. Correct for the 7th Division. There is a set of Dog Tags that came with the set. Named to Percy Martin who was a member of the 54th Coast Artillery and then apparenty transfers to the 56th Infantry as indicated by the Xing out of the CAC unit info on the tags. There is also a nice, complete WW1 helmet with the 7th Division insignia on the side. The strap and liner are still attached and display well. This is a great named grouping. --$325--

Item MISC14 - Nice WW1 40th Division grouping. Overseas cap, tunic, and 2 yard long photographs belonging to 1SGT Harvy J. Wilson. He was a mamber of Company A, 158th Infantry Regiment. The tunic is French made and with the exception of a repair at the back of the collar coming loose, it is in very nice condition. No rips, tears or stains. Has a nice 40th Division patch, discharge stripe and a single bullion overseas stripe on the left sleeve. Nice 1SGT strips on the right sleeve. US disc and a nice "A"company, 158th Infantry disc on the collar. The overseas cap is matching material and has the sergeant's name and number as well as "Paris, France" written in it. The two yard long photos are in very good condition. No rips or tears. Nice grouping. The last two pictures show Wilson as listed in the unit roster as a sergeant in A Company of the 158th Infantry (the roster is not included). --249--

Item WW15-- Very clean and servicable 87th Division uniform. Tunic and breeches. Has the soldier's ID tags as well. Belonged to Ivar A. Wasberg, Jamestown , NY (The ID tags read "IOAR" but a tag with the uniform identified him as "IVAR" which makes more sense.) He was born in 1896 and died in 1970. The tunic has a rare version of the 87th patch nicely sewn on the left sleeve along with the discharge stripe and a single bullion overseas stripe. Wasberg was assigned to Co. E, 346th Regt. His collar discs are a US and infantry crossed rifles with an E scratched on it under the rifles. The tunic is about a size 38 and the breeches have a nice 31 inch waist. The breeches have been carefully modified from lace-up to button-up. Cool! The tunic has a couple of very minor moth nips and I could find no damage to the breeches. Nice research project. --$250--

Item WW16-Large sized 89th Division tunic. About a size 40, this tunic is a private purchace. Has scattered mothing but displays well. Has USNA and Artillery discs, sergeant stripes and gunners rate on the right sleeve and 3 bullion overseas stripes embroidered directly to the left sleeve. Veg. ivory buttons with one missing and one that needs to be resewn. -$135-

Item WW17 - Officer’s tunic with 2lt rank and USR and unit brass. The unit is the 28th Division 108th Artillery Trains. The collar brass is pretty rare to find. The grouping includes a leather map case and mess kit with utensils all named to 2lt H. Gilbert. Also includes an artillery piped overseas cap with the 2lt rank and a small 108th Ammo Trains insignia. The map case is in good condition but the leather loops that held the rings for the strap have broken as have the snaps to the storage pouch. Still displays well. Both the coat and cap have scattered moth damage. The coat has vegetable ivory buttons (one needs to be re-sewn). There is a seam separation on the back. It is still displayable. Overall, a nice ID’d grouping. --$325--

Item WW19- A rare tunic here. British made and marked "Pershing" pattern tunic with the pockets hung on the inside to save on wool. Loose on my 36 mannequin. This has had some damage to the right sleeve but a collector has put a quartermaster rank insignia over the hole. It matches well. The rarity of the tunic makes this a wise decision. There is evidence of a patch on the left sleeve as well as outline of 2 overseas stripes. This is a nice tunic and will display quite well. --$145--

Item WW20 - WW1 sailors uniform. This is a nice woolen jumper and bell bottom pants. Comes with a pair of white work pants and the "dixie Cup" cap. The cap and white trousers are named to J.F.Thoma and the bell bottoms are named to another sailor. The jumper is un-named. The jumper has a few areas of damage that have been repaired. Not a detraction from display. The rest of the items are free of issues other than age stains and such. The cap is a hard item to find and this one is in great condition , namerd and still has the tie string. The jumper has 2 bullion overseas stripes. Overall, a nice displayable set. --$125--

Item WW21 - Here is the complete uniform for a sailor who was assigned to the USS MISSISSIPPI during WW1. He was from Nebraska and the set comes with lots of family church documents for his parents, his wife, him and his children. Also has an official document from the state of Nebraska honoring this mans WW1 service. Signed by the governor. Jumper has gun pointer insignia on one sleeve and sharpshooter insignia on the other. There are a few small moth holes and some fading but nothing nasty. Pants are there and show wear but again, nothing nasty. The cap is the early pancake style with the inner lining. Has a faded tally with "USS MISSISSIPPI" on it. There are two holes in the underside and the cap is faded to an almost brown color. Clearly named. Great set with lots of documentation and extras. You just do not find complete WW1 USN uniforms to a battleship sailor! --$249--

Item WW22-- If all you want is an ensign coat, here is the deal for you. Nice clean tunic with correct anchor insignia at the collar and a single bullion stripe at each sleeve. Line officer star above the stripe. No rips, tears or stains but it does show normal wear. The inside is in good condition except where the lining of the collar has worn badly. Not a detraction from display. Coat is unnamed. ---$175--

Item WW23 -WW1 period USN ensign's uniform. Very nice attributed uniform of Ensign Robert C. Jordan, USNRF. Dated 1919, the coat is on a size 36 maniquine. It is long and has a nice tall collar. The set comes with a photograph of Jordan and a Leave of Absence authorization. Nice set. --$225--

Item WW24 -- Hard to find WW1 US Navy, line Lieutenant Commander tunic. This is a nice coat with only one small moth nip that I can find. That is on the reverse of the right sleeve so it is not visable in display. Coat is about a size 38. No name. Very nice collar insignia of a line Lt.Cdr. Very nice higher rank tunic. --$195--

Item WW25 -- WW1 US Navy officer's summer, white cover bell crown cap. Overall nice condition. Dingly from age with a small stain here and there. Visor is firmly attached and not all cracked. The bullion officer insignia is very nice and in good condition, The mohair band does show wear and tear. Full whicker frame. Hard to find the caps any more. --$215--

Item WW27 - Pattern 1912 US Army campaign hat. Has the correct 5 rows of stitching as required for an issue hat. This has been modified by removing the shoelace chinstrap and cutting slits for a leather chinstrap. Overall good condition with no holes or moth tracking. Tag under the sweatband says it is a 6 ¾. No other markings. --$85--

Item WW28 - Pattern 1912 US Army campaign hat. Has the correct 5 rows of stitching as required for an issue hat. This has been modified by removing the shoelace chinstrap and cutting slits for a leather chinstrap. Overall good condition with one very small hole on the brim and just some minor moth tracking. Full, in-place sweatband with no markings. Appears to be around a size 6 ¾. --$75--

Item WW30--Super looking NS Meyer marked, Officer's campaign hat with awesome bullion hatband and acorns as well as a still plyable chinstrap. Tagged as a size 6 3/4, this shows it's age a bit with some scattered moth tracks. The sweatband is still plyable though.
