Dixxi on her sixteenth birthday - YES
Dixxi is a dream come true. A beautiful bitch from Jessi who I so adore. She catches everyone's eye with that impishness that still excels. She began her show career with the ABTC 1987 National Sweepstakes win. Her Championship was completed before a year of age from the puppy class.
By sixteen months she had a CD to her credit. A Bermudian Championship was earned in three shows including a Group III. This was the first of several Group Placements that she has had. A Bermudian Championship was earned by eighteen months of age. At two and a half on a Canadian visit, Dixxi garnered nine championship points. In a day and a half she earned her CD. She completed her Championship later in 1988. A States Kennel Club Championship is included in her credits.
Her view of the world is through a dark almond shaped eye. Her coat is high lighted with rich mahogany. She has a scissor bite. And, Dixxi shows great balance and grace in movement.
In obedience, she has been successful in achieving first places both in Mexico and upon the completion of her American UD. She obtained her Bermudian CDX in 1990. During the last few months, Dixxi has acquired her CGC and Therapy Dog International certification. She now demonstrates obedience and visits patients at our local hospital. She likes to greet all those around her. She has endless energy and an unbound LOVE of life with young children being her specialty, especially at play. This carried into her three litters of puppies - what a wonderful mother!
She is still our little "Tom Girl" at the age of eight. She doesn't miss a trick - as inattentive as ever - only HER own thing will do. Dixxi is the first "Treasure Kid" and that she will always be in our hearts - TRIXXI - DIXXI.
Our little Dixxi continued on and had a fourth litter which unfortunately was a singleton pup. Kurt was a little imp as a puppy and made his name known later in life as there were always those older than he that needed attention first.
Later Dixxi was shown in herding and to date is the only Belgian Tervuren from this home to have a herding trialing title and completed her HSAS at 12 ½ years old. Her enthusiasm and get up and go continued longer than any of our other Tervs as she lived to be 16 years and 4 months and we literally lost her from old age.
