Symons' Treasure Harbor Light

Ch Symons' Treasure Harbor Light CD NA NAJ PT TT CGC TDIA (Toro)

Toro was always a special guy. He was a Dixxi "kid" and was the wild one of the litter. He had the red band immediately and also in Morgan Hill where we live our highest mountain peak is El Toro... so the name fit. Unlike most he didn't carry the usual name of boys from this home, but wound up being called Harbor Light to carry on the "H" litter formula.

He easily earned his HT and PT very early on with Dick. That was a big day as he was one of three each day to complete these two titles.

Toro was a lover and that was much more important than his obedience training and goofing around was much more fun. He decided while at trials that this was not his "cup of tea" so obedience was discontinued. He continued training at home, but the idea of trials was abandoned.

Tracking was the next endeavor with Dick.

Like his predicessors, Toro earned his CGC and TDI and after a long while had enough visits at our local hospital for his TDIA. One Christmas wearing antlers, he pulled the priest who served at our local hospital, Saint Louise Regional Hospital in Gilroy, down the halls in a wheel chair like a"reindeer" at Christmas. This was photographed and published in the local newspaper.

Dick and Sue tried their hand at training for agility, Dick with Toro and Sue with Jenni. Sue quit after a short time and Jenni died before being shown, but Dick and Toro went on to complete Toro's novice titles. Dick decided Toro was too slow to continue, so that ended Toro's agility career. Also, there was Izzi and Kurt who ade better time and were more of a challenge for Dick.

Toro was always always a fun dog and a lover. Dogs aren't allowed on the furniture in our home, but Toro always found ways to give hugs and half climbed into laps. He was an attribute to our community and to the world of Belgian Tervuren.
