Ch Symons' Treasure Kurtiss UD TD OA OAJ PT CGC TDIAOV
There were so many things to do in this world. He didn't know what to do next - maybe this, maybe that ... he wanted to do it all RIGHT NOW!!! That was Kurt.
He was very active, fast, and strong. Kurt arrived on the scene as a solo pup in Dixxi's last litter talking and never was quiet after that if he could help it.
When he arrived we had seven dogs - far too many and he didn't get the attention he needed as a young dog. He easily made his HT and PT in herding and as time passed he earned his Championship and CD. Then he and Dick did some Agility where they had great fun and Kurt loved this challenge.
Back to obedience practice and Kurt and Dick earned his CDX title. And then there was Dick's favorite venue - Tracking and the TD title. After being put obedience training on "hold" it was back to the Utility training. It took many trials, but he garnered that UD at eleven years. He was our sixth "Well Balanced Terv" when he completed his UD.
Kurt concluded his accomplishments with his CGC / TDI and he loved excursions to our local hospital and nursing home. He was a busy guy, loved everyone and was very social. Our youngest granddaughter called him "Knuckle Head" but he upheld the Belgian Tervuren tradition of - 'Beauty & Brains in One Loving Package'...
Kurt was kind of pushed in a corner as a young dog as there was always someone older than he that required attention. He resented not being the center of attention which we all need, but then when he got it, decided to do some things his way, not what we or AKC desired. He did give in and we were thrilled by his later accomplishments - he adored the added attention. His love of people was infectious and would go out of his way to be with people as an older dog, especially when we had guests whether it be family or friends.
When people talk about their dogs not liking to eat... that was never a problem with Kurt. Sue could give him just about anything and it quickly disappeared. He not only ate the normal items that dogs love, but fruits and vegetables which were part of his diet which gave him gourmet meals... at least so he thought.
