COW 101/102 AND
CATTLE SORTING CLINICS ANNOUNCED! Get your boots on and come learn at the LBHA
Arena, Loomis, Ca. Expert instruction by Kathy and Elliott Roberts. We supply
the cows and know- how and you supply the FUN!- Safe and slow gets its done!
COW 101 - Sunday, March 15

9am to 12pm $70 (Rain Date: March 29th)
This class is designed as an introduction to
cattle work for horse and rider. It is a beginner class geared to getting your
horse accustomed to being around cattle and learning how to move them
successfully. You may take Cow 101 multiple times.
COW 102 (Rain Date: March 29th) This class is for the horse and rider who have
either previously taken Cow 101 or you feel your horse has adequate experience
working cattle to be able to move the cattle more confidently within the herd.
This class will start with instruction on the use of all your aides utilized
for cow work. You should come away from this class with a better feel of how
to ride your horse more effectively in this environment.
CATTLE SORTING Each session will teach you the
fundamentals of team sorting. The clinic will give you the tools to be more
effective in working the herd to “sort” the cattle utilizing actual sorting
techniques. The cattle will be numbered and you will learn how to methodically
get the cattle sorted. In this event, slow

12 riders per clinic session. YOU MUST be a member of LBHA to participate however,
you may join day of event for additional $15( good all year). GENERAL INFORMATION FOR
ALL CLINICS Helmets required
for those under 18 and suggested for all riders. Please be saddled and ready to ride at start
time! All breeds, disciplines, saddle types are
welcome.
HOW TO RESERVE THE ARENA The arena at the park is 120' by 225', sanded and is watered by an automated sprinkler system. There is plenty of parking for most shows. Bleachers and announcer booth available. Jumps, trail equipment and a sound system are available to rent. The arena is located at the Loomis Basin Community Park and has a trail leading to Secret Ravine Creek. If you or your organization would like to use the Loomis Basin Horsemen's Arena for an event, clinic, or training session you may request a permit from LBHA. Placer County requires insurance liability coverage of $1 million. There is a small usage and clean up fee for group use of the Arena. Call LBHA 916-652-5204, write us at LBHA P.O.
