To Whom it may concern, i.e. potential puppy parents,
I am writing this letter in praise of the kennel of Golden Acres Aussies. As the former head of a regional humane society I am a dim viewer of breeders in general but I feel that Bev provides a loving, clean, and natural environment for her “puppers”, as she calls them.
At present we are the proud companions of two Golden Acres Aussies. Sassy, a three year old black tri (who certainly lives up to her name) and Bogie, a nine week old fuzzy ball of energy who will some day be a magnificent red tri.
Bev breeds for congenial temperament and compatibility with the families that she wants her dogs to go to. Her puppers are destined to be family members and, as such, she wants them to be treated with kindness, love, and respect. To be a potential parent of one of her pups the adopting family must meet high standards in the areas of love and caring and Bev requires that these families and individuals have a willingness to learn about these highly intelligent and sensitive dogs. My two dogs often show that they can outsmart us. Highly unnerving I must admit but really fun on a daily basis. Interactions with these babies is more rewarding than lots of contact I have with my fellow humans. I credit their willingness to be our helpers in our daily lives and their friendliness to people and other dogs, cats and other critters to be a direct reflection of the way that they were raised from day one.
Bev, her husband, and her granddaughter provide a safe, clean, and “happy” place for the first eight weeks of these puppies’ lives and consequently, when they are ready to be adopted out, they go to their new families with the nicest of personalities. And, they each have a distinct one! Being able to meet both the parent dogs on site is great and in fact the whole facility....no, the whole “homestead” is a wonderful place to spend some time getting to know the “Golden Acres Aussies.”
I know that, at any time, I can contact Bev with any question regarding my puppy, and in fact, questions about my three year old as well. Bev is knowledgeable and if she isn’t sure of her answer she will talk with her vet, or whomever, to get the correct answer.
This spring, when we lost our beloved Chocolate Lab to renal failure, I immediately contacted Bev to share my grief. She listened. A few weeks later when I was wanting to discuss a companion for my Sassy, Bev advised me on the dog she felt would blend in the best. This summer Bogie was born and he now lives with us....bringing a whole new meaning to the words “controlled chaos.” When I watch him rolling on the floor with Sassy, chewing and biting, or asleep with Sas, nose to nose. I know that Bev steered us right.
A person must search their soul for the reason that they bring a dog into their lives and the reasons must be right. At a time when so many animals are mistreated from the moment of birth it is a real joy to adopt one who is just plain happy with life. Experiencing a puppy that was born in a safe, clean place and raised with love is a real joy.
